With all the buzz that has been happening around our girl, and almost 20 million Instagram followers, we thought it best to start out with her, as she is one of the hottest female rappers out there, yes there are others but our current focus is Cardi!
That said, known to the world as Cardi B, Belcalis Almanzar was born on October 11, 1992 to parents of Dominican (father) and Trinidadian (mother) descent; this Libran grew up in New York where she spent time travelling between Highbridge, South Bronx and Washington Heights. She moved to the Bronx at age 8, then attended Renaissance High School For Musical Theater & Technology. Though a college drop-out, she is a lover of Liberal Arts and Political Science.
She started working as a professional exotic dancer at age 19, after being fired from her post as a Cashier at Amish Market, where her then supervisor advised that since she had a nice body, she could start exotic dancing. She was also enrolled at the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC), but quit after actualizing the stress of managing school and work simultaneously. She started dancing in an effort to escape a then abusive relationship, which she was finding a difficult way out of, since her parents kicked her out of their home when she was 18 years old. New York Dolls Gentlemen’s Club was where she began her journey to stardom, as she realized the power of Instagram and started to accumulate a movement that was behind her every antic.
Though exotic dancing ‘saved her’, she does not recommend it for young girls who may be in a situation similar to what she was in. Reason being, while growing up, she always felt confident about her physical appearance. After she started dancing in various clubs, she started feeling insecure about her body, as she observed that the dancers with bigger assets (breasts and ass, for those who don’t know 🙂 ), were being PAID! They were getting the BIG BUCKS all because their assets were bigger. This led ‘Camilla’ to having breast augmentation work done in the Dominican Republic and illegal butt injections at age 22, from a woman in Queens, NY. Apparently, back then, everyone was going to this woman, i.e. everyone who could not properly afford the services.
People are drawn to the charismatic nature of this big sister, who has a strict mother, as well as her witty lyrics, which took her all the way to the top of the Billboard charts. She being the first female rapper in 19 years to accomplish that feat.
She made her debut on Love & Hip-Hop: New York, where she collected that check, as we know Mona Scott does her thing! This allowed her to get veneers, since she would be making more TV appearances with her come up. We all know a girl’s gotta look cute when she’s gettin’ that bag even if it ain’t the most expensive. Based on the work done, we can definitely say our girl forked up a pretty penny! This she did with highly rated Dr Catrise Austin, NYC Smile Makeover Expert extraordinaire, who surely did a great job on those pearly whites!
With staying cute, Cardi stays true to her roots and still gets her nails done at Nails on 7th Avenue and still shops in the Bronx at times. One of her biggest buys is her orange Bentley which she got after signing her first deal. We can tell she also has a bit of classiness about her as she has also bought a $100k timepiece, which though fully ‘iced’, is still feminine in appearance. Cardi has also mentioned that she wants to be recognized as a fashion icon.

So we are now at the question of what next? Well, Cardi B has been making appearances all over and has been keeping herself busy with her music as well. For weeks, it has been circulating in the net waves that Cardi B is pregnant. This is one thing I contemplated on much about writing, reason being, this may very well be a rumor as well as it may not.
Hear me out, before you get all hysterical on me! She has been getting fat. Money does that to a lot of people. And for sure, she been lookin’ a lil thicker than usual. She has a man, Kiari Cehpus aka Offset, whom she started dating in 2017; they got engaged later on in October that same year. He appears to love her and vice versa, that’s another ingredient for just simply getting fat or also for getting pregnant, lol!
In her getting fat, her tummy has also visibly been looking a bit pudgy She has said that she just wants to fat in peace, meaning, leave her alone. That could also be a telling sign of being in the 1st or early 2nd trimester of pregnancy, and not wanting to have to deal with all the criticisms of the onlooking world of social media. Then, there is also the circulation of someone from her team mentioning that she would be drinking only water after a Maxim party performance, as she was 3-4 months pregnant. I’ve seen her put out a photo of a flat stomach after all those ‘allegations’. So maybe that will silence people for a while.
It matters not if she is pregnant. She would make a great mom if she is! We have seen her display survival skills and what seems to be proper money management skills so far. She also provides guidance to men and women via her Instagram account, and that is something that is integral for any parent, guidance. She wants to have a child by 27, if that child should come before or after, she would rise to the occasion and display just how strong she is.
Yeah, she’s at the top of her game but so what? There are many successful women who have done it with a bag o’ kids. Look at Angelina Jolie and Kate Gosselin, they ain’t starving yet. Furthermore, everyone’s take on success is different. We know she is smart so she will figure it all out! We congratulate Cardi on all the accomplishments she has made thus far and know she will continue to achieve more.
